Many of us have complained about the low spawn / drop rates out here in the forums. I have personally grieved about the Pirate quest and how lame that is. Every step of it has it's so called challenges. But when you get the job done. When you have put in the hours of work... you still have to deal with the built in grief system of random stats on rewards. You know, *cough* "..." to make the game more challenging ".... Bullshit. It is; as I have stated before, intentionally cruel to the players. I've dealt with this as we all have. Aggravation after aggravation. But today was the real slap in the face. Today, was the real, "Oh my fucking God are you kidding me" kind of moment.
I have literally been living in the haunted hallows. Finally a system where you do the work, you turn in your hard gained pumpkins and you get your reward! (Fucking Yay!) I've turned in close to 3000 pumpkins. This morning I said the heck with it and decided to get the sandals. Hey, who couldn't use +5 Necro/+5 spirit speak, eh? So I pull out my pumpkins and boom. There we have it. The same intentional bullshit built into every quest system on Evo is there to fuck you over even in the haunted hallows. +1 Necro and +1 Spirit speak, even with a 2000+ luck suit on. Hell, if I had know I was about to get screwed once again I would have at least put on my expensive 5000+ luck suit, but it wouldn't have mattered would it? What a backhand that was. I sat there at the pillar for 5 minutes staring in disbelief at 600 pumpkins literally thrown into the garbage by the build in grief system. Wow. Just fucking wow.

I've read countless threads on here from the staff threatening players for disrespecting the staff. I Couldn't agree more. I think you deserve the same level of respect you give us. But here I am again playing a game and genuinely thinking to myself, wow. You couldn't possibly be more disrespectful to us than ripping us off so blatantly when we are there in an area designed to have fun. That ruined the hallows for me. In fact, it ruined the game for me.

Dear Whispper, here is a real slap in the face for you!

You are lucky you still play here after our last encounter, so I'm really surprised to see you rant again about this subject.  You rage quit, cursing and chatting about how unfair this shard is, and then initiated a chargeback causing disruption, paperwork and just plain hassle for the staff.  After you lost the chargeback I still let you play here...I spoke to you in private many times and have warned you about this type of behavior

I'm going to make an example of this post.  I don't normally ever respond in this manner, but in this case, I think using this post to show how rude players can be toward staff and all the hard work we put into this shard.  This post from Whispper is petty, disrespectful, and a waste of everyone's time to read or respond to.  What purpose does this post have other than to cry that you are being treated unfairly by the "random" spawners, and that you did not get the perfect treasure on your first attempt, and that you have bad luck.  So your rationale is to rage about this in chat and on the forums that this free shard is unfair.  So now you expect staff to readjust spawners, make treasure easier and make you luckier, because the shard is not fair in your opinion?

I just wrote a detailed post, warning players not to curse, rage, cry or br disrespctful to the shrd or the staff. Obviouly you have not read it.

"Many of us have complained about the low spawn / drop rates"
Many players do not complain, they inform the staff and we investigate and change as appropriate, you are the only one that keeps complaining when you dont get your way

I have personally grieved about the Pirate quest and how lame that is
If it's so lame dont do the quest, I told you the same thing last time you cried about it. You forgot to tell people you have been camping it for weeks...that it why it seems so lame, we make quests no fun to farm

you still have to deal with the built in grief system of random stats on rewards
You call it grief system, we call it anti-cheat code, we have to make things fair for 500+ players and have to consider how items are distributed.  You dont want players all having the same exact max items, the randomness creates trade, and more play, it also make the perfect rare items desireable/valuable

"to make the game more challenging".... Bullshit
We do make the game more challenging for all types of players.  I'm sorry your type thinks it's bullshit...maybe this game is too hard and complex for you to play if you think this way and get so easily frustrated?

as I have stated before, intentionally cruel to the players
This is a free shard, meant to be fun, with different levels of difficulty.  We are certainly not intentionally cruel to any players.  You may get frustrated easier than other players, but this does not mean it's the shards fault...the challenges may just be too difficult.  That being said you don't have the right to rage on the shard or be rude to staff, you should merely log out and calm down.

I've dealt with this as we all have. Aggravation after aggravation
Sorry this 20 year old children's game is aggravating you so bad, maybe try a different aspect of the game like cooking to calm you down

Today, was the real, "Oh my fucking God are you kidding me" kind of moment.
Again the cursing when speaking to a staff member or a player is breaking a rule and is a bannable offense.  I have spoken to you before about this and you ignore my warnings.  No one will listen to you or take you serious if you curse.

I have literally been living in the haunted hallows
Stop camping and go play other parts of the game...

The same intentional bullshit built into every quest system on Evo is there to fuck you over even in the haunted hallows
We have many systems that discourage camping, like random timers, long timers and random loot drops with did random intensities...get it, random for all, fair to all

screwed once again
Hmm, I don't feel like I screwed you in any way, and if I did screw you, you would know it

I sat there at the pillar for 5 minutes staring in disbelief at 600 pumpkins literally thrown into the garbage by the build in grief system. Wow. Just fucking wow.
Good luck follows good people, bad luck works the same way...try being nice, less rude, no cursing and see if things improve.  Your way of acting is certainly not working for anyone

You couldn't possibly be more disrespectful to us than ripping us off so blatantly when we are there in an area designed to have fun. That ruined the hallows for me. In fact, it ruined the game for me.
We are disresectful? OMG my head just exploded...answering this post, in this harsh manner to give you a taste of your own medicine is probably the only time I have been disrespectful in the 7 years of running this shard...can you tell I'm sick of it yet?

I suggest you take the time to make a positve post and thank the shard and staff for all the hard work we do to entertain you, and realize it is a priveledge and not a right to play here on this FREE shard...maybe take a break and and reflect wheather you like playing here or not...the next time you behave poorly, you may not get a choice

I want to address this to everyone else who reads this post- I SOOOO agree with everything Dante said -I wish there were a big thumbs up button!-but want to add something:

Myself and all staff will work with players who feel the content we add is too hard-too easy- too slow-reward not exciting enough or to difficult! We CAN make additions, modifications, expansions.

All you need to do is provide honest constructive feedback.

Now having said that because a player thinks something is too hard or to unrewarding does not mean we will jump in and change it...we are going to talk to 20 other players as well!

The point is...we put stuff in...we change things as needed! The first part of hallows went in...as a complete revamp in a week....then we watched for a bit. (We warned and/or moved 5 afkers before a full week passed!) YES a LOT of players said.... too many people not enough spawn! I agreed- there seemed to be a lot of congestion in one area. Complaints of individuals using area effect seemed to be one of the most common! A solution- A bigger area seemed obvious-

A few players suggested we move it all to deceit- bigger area- I like the Haunted Hallows though-the whole graveyard theme is awesome! So I EXPANDED into Deceit-TWICE!  The point is we will work with players...we'd be fools not to listen to feedback.

There's a right way and a wrong way to offer it though! The minute someone comes at us aggressively with demands for change, profanity and a 'or else'....then well we have a different issue.

Come to us with ideas, thoughts, suggestions, things you like or don't like! Do not expect immediate change, in fact do not always expect any change- a lot of factors go into why we will or will not change something- We want to know what you think- tell us! Your input in a calm, constructive way is IMPORTANT!

I guess you and I have different views of the word "work" and the phrase "hard gained";  all you have been doing is farming these pumpkins,  there is nothing hard about the spawn, there is no risk involved.   You have been able to collect 3000 pumpkins in a very short period,  and then expect to get powerful items for basically zero risk?  You mention respect, you do not respect the other players in the hallows,  how do not control your tames.

I have been playing on this shard since day one and yes there have been ups and downs.  Ok that’s to be expected.  What I can state though is that the staff here works very hard to make this both an interesting and enjoyable place to play.  From time to time however there seems to be people that just choose to gripe and whine about one thing or another.   In these cases I really have to compliment the staff for the patience they show with these types of players.
What I don’t understand is if these people find it so unfair and they are not having any fun why don’t they just go play somewhere else.  Nobody is forced to be here, this is as Dante has stated totally free and at the players discretion.
Now if you have an honest grievance, a concern, or an in game issue all you need to do is contact staff and work with them on a resolution.  I know this for a fact as I have done this in the past and they were always willing to work with me.
If all you want to do is complain and whine and flaunt your immaturity please find another place to play or start your own shard and you can be the deity you already think you are.
Just my two cents

By your thinking i should be throwing a tantrum and rage quit after turning in for 12+ kas items at the same time and not only not getting what i wanted but also half or more of the items were just necks, robes or helmets. I did that a few times and oh well, RNG God is just not on my side and you dare to complain on turning in for just 3-4 items. I bet that if we start looking around we will find people with less luck than you.

Wthats the most ridiculous here is that you complain about the fucking sandals lol. You can get better ones through archeology or just buy them fairly cheap.

Hello!

I wanted to make a separate thread but I guess I will hop on this train :P

Hopefully I don't sound as angry and desperate as the OP, I simply wanted to suggest that while the spawn times are effectively spaced fairly between interesting bosses, some people, as seen above, still manage to camp these rare spawns by simply running in a spawns loop continously, making it harder for regular players to even FIND that rare monster.

I would suggest possibly that a fair way to face this problem would be to make the bosses summonable in a special room (like the peerless) only once per day per person maybe. Everyone could actually get a chance to fight them daily if they wished, there would be barely any wait, and the drop chance can either be adjusted accordingly or left as it, considering that the turn-in items do have random properties.

Another way, while it may seem dumb, would be to simply let everyone know when a rare mob "spawns" on general chat, so if everyone wants to jump in and go kill it they could, and everyone would have a chance at the drop. It would avoid 3-4 people to solo them all the time (and then complain).

There are many ways to tackle this issue I believe, I'm sure the current way can be improved, and I guess there are more positive ways to report the issue and improve the actual system ;)

Thanks!

What Mobs are you specifically talking about being camped?

My experience is short but :

Mushroom Cave fey for the green tunic turn-in, Spirilix for the kas armor set for example are two bosses that come to my mind. There are probably others but I haven't had the chance to tackle them yet as my path only begins.

I guess just to talk about your own experience and share is interesting, wheter you agree or not 😅

Buhh byee!!

The sword for the tunic can also be drop on the mirror shield guy;  There are three locations for the Mirror shield guy.

Spirilix also spawns in three locations,  one of them has a wide radius;  my understanding is these are all on random timers,  one of the locations has specific mobs to prevent camping.  If you do kill Spirilix make sure to take advantage of the contract sytemt to have a chance at a second sword.

I have had some rather frustrating problems with spawn as well. I have killed Gnaw (the wolf) in the pursuit of trying to get all the needed keys to fight the Dreadhorn 57 times now since I have started keeping track and have not once received the "Gnaws Fang" drop required to continue (45 minutes at times between spawns when the other key spawning mobs spawn roughly every 10 to 15 mins is also a pain). I totally understand that some items are more difficult to obtain and that some spawns or drops are random for the sake of creating challenge or diversity. But some stuff is just outright insane. I have brought this to the attention of staff through private msgs in game only to be completely ignored. Granted I understand I am only one little whiner easily ignored, it does make for a rather frustrating experience at times. Yes I have gone elsewhere to kill other peerless, or what have you, but after seeing the peerless quest I wanted to attempt to get all the gems so I could get the ring or cape. And now once again for another night I am logging off rather frustrated with a quest/reward system that seems entirely out of whack with little that I think would be done about it.

Dont get me wrong, I love the server, respect staff, have donated, etc. But lately I just see a lot of rage going back and forth between staff and players. Im sure for valid reasons and a lot of history I wasnt here for. Im just saying that maybe there is a more productive or creative way for all of us to work out issues instead of getting so heated.

Swine, I believe that the problem with the heated discussions and people thinking that there may be cause for concern is largely an issue of perception. These angry threads are way more public and noticeable than all of the times someone approaches staff quietly with an idea and actually get to watch them bring it into being. I don't go into the Discord server much at all but back when Teamspeak was the only channel in town Kane and Domino used to hop into public chat on the regular and were always willing to listen to ideas and reasonable complaints. I have even been lucky enough to hear the start of ideas between Kane and other players and hear him add the item to his infamous "list" and then see those ideas show up in game knowing that a few of us had a seat at the table when ideas were shared. Those things speak VOLUMES about the staff that Dante has assembled here and it goes almost entirely unnoticed because there might only be 5-10 people present for the conversation instead of the hundreds that get to read when someone loses their cool on the forums. This type of angry back and forth seems to occur more when a player comes forward with ideas that get shelved because they are largely self serving and then get upset because the GM's are "ignoring them" or being "mean." I would argue that for every thread like this there are easily 10 more productive conversations that get started in a less public way. I 100% agree with you that Gnaw's spawn and item drop rate seems to be a bit out of proportion to the rest of the peerless monsters, and I would be willing to bet that if you approached staff with REAL numbers that Kane would monitor the spawn/drop rate for a few days and let you know if it is operating as intended or if there is a tweak that needs to be made. You just can't come at staff all sideways like the misguided fellow that started this thread.

I completely agree. Every time I have come into contact with the staff on this server they have been very helpful and pleasant. And the fact that the (3 im guessing as thats who i always see) Dante, Domino, and Kane are always very active. Being new to this server and having only played the game prior to things like champ spawns, and peerless, etc I have a ton to learn still. I try to learn something new every day and further myself along. I dont have a clue when it comes to history between people on the shard and honestly would prefer to stay out of the drama. That being said I do know enough to know when something is blatantly out of whack and when discreet mentions of it go ignored I have been known to progressively get louder until I at least get some sort of answer be that either we will look into it or piss off hehe.

But as an update... today after killing a total of 61 Gnaws over the last few weeks I finally got his drop! Yay! I about fell out of my chair!
